"Missing since Thanksgiving 30 years ago"

Mark Himebaugh was born on May 23, 1980, and has been classified as an emotionally disturbed child who may have obsessive-compulsive disorder. He was known to have frequent tantrums and outbursts. However, his tantrums and outbursts had improved leading up to the days before his disappearance.

On Thanksgiving day in 1991 at approximately 4:00pm was the last time Mark will ever be seen by his family for the next 30 years. His mother has allowed him to go watch firefighters put out a small bush fire that was taking place about a quarter-mile from their house. His mom had then left the house to run an errand that should have taken 5 minutes but she had gotten caught up and did not end up coming back home until 40 minutes later. By the time she had arrived back home, Mark had already become missing.

An unconfirmed witness stated they had seen Mark at a local nearby park with another child, who could not be identified, at around 3:40pm that same day. The girl was said to have the appearance of a 9 or 10-year-old who stood at about 4 feet tall and 70-75 pounds with blonde hair. Authorities believed that she knew what had happened to him and could help them with the investigation and began a search for her, but it was never successful. 

The second unconfirmed witness said to have seen Mark with 2 unknown males. Only one male was given a description, that being of a 30-35-year-old with long reddish-brown hair and around 150 pounds

75 yards down from the family's home, Mark's left shoe had been found and his footprints were seen above the tide line.

Thomas Butcavage Jr. 

Thomas had become a person of interest in 1993. He had resembled the sketch of one of the men seen with Mark the previous years during his disappearance. Thomas was a known client of a male prostitute that had come forward to tell the police that Thomas had shown him a video of him having sex with a young boy, who very closely resembled Mark. The male had asked if that was Mark and Thomas stated yes and he was distracting the police by placing his left shoe where he did. No charges were ever made on Thomas but he had been imprisoned multiple times for drugs and sex with underage males.
